Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) has launched an urgent appeal for public assistance in locating two missing schoolgirls from Phoenix.
The missing teenagers, Kaylene Luckraj, 15, and Carmel Moodley, 14, both pupils at Solvista Secondary School, were last seen at 7.30am on Tuesday, February 18.
The two girls, both residents of Sunford, Phoenix, have not been heard from since.
Their disappearance was reported to the RUSA Operations Centre at 9.15pm on Tuesday by their families and the deputy principal of Solvista Secondary School, after they had been missing for approximately 14 hours.
Spokesperson Prem Balram said authorities have also received reports of a third missing schoolgirl from Havenpark Secondary School in Phoenix.
“However, it has not yet been confirmed if she is in the company of Luckraj and Moodley. RUSA is currently working to gather further information and has not released details about the third teenager, pending family consent,” said Mr Balram.
