The five men arrested in connection with the murder of Kiernan Jarred Forbes (AKA) and Tebello Motsoane (Tibz), returned to the Durban Magistrates’ Court last Friday (February 7).
The men: Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi (30), Lindani Zenzele Ndimande (35), Siyanda Eddie Myeza (21), Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni (36) and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande (29), are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder (Forbes), murder (Motsoane), unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and five counts of attempted murder. The state also added two further charges of money laundering.
Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), said in February 2023, rapper and businessman Mr Forbes and celebrity chef Mr Motsoane were shot and killed outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road, just outside the Durban CBD.
“The state served an indictment on the accused (through their counsel), and the case was remanded to May 8, for the accused to make their first appearance in the Durban High Court,” said Ms Ramkisson-Kara.
