Twin sisters Alka and Jhanvi Januk celebrated a major milestone this week as they both graduated with their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees — marking the culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of promising legal careers.
The dynamic duo, who hail from Reservoir Hills, have long shared a dream of pursuing justice. While their academic journey was walked side by side, each sister was driven by her own unique motivations and aspirations.
For Alka, the calling to study law was deeply rooted in a desire to serve and uplift others.
“I pursued an LLB degree driven by a genuine desire to empower others,” she said. “My goal has always been to use the law as a tool to effect meaningful change, advocate for the rights of the vulnerable, and contribute positively to my community.”
Jhanvi, on the other hand, was drawn to the intellectual challenges the field presented.
“I discovered early on that I had a strong aptitude for understanding and applying legal concepts,” she explained. “I wanted to build a career that not only challenged me academically but also allowed me to make a meaningful impact.”
Their shared work ethic and passion for justice were inspired by their family — especially their mother, who is an attorney herself. Watching her navigate the legal profession and family life with resilience and dedication left an indelible impression on the sisters.
Balancing rigorous academic demands with internships and other responsibilities came with its fair share of sacrifices. Weekends were often spent poring over case law, and holidays were dedicated to legal internships rather than leisure. Yet, every step reaffirmed their commitment.
Now on the brink of their professional journeys, Alka is preparing to begin her practical vocational training with the goal of being admitted as an attorney.
Jhanvi is already making strides, currently completing her articles of clerkship at the prestigious law firm, Cox Yeats Attorneys.
