Tickets for Sid Sriram’s Durban performan are selling out fast, with about 70% already sold for the June 17 show at Durban ICC Arena.
Of the 6500 tickets that went on sale, only gold circle (standing), platinum, VIP and VVIP tickets (with the opportunity to meet and greet Sid Sriram) are still available.
“Sriram is India’s leading playback singer for South Indian movies and his live shows are in big demand,” said Sagie Naidoo of Woodmark Events SA, who are staging the show.
“The Durban concert is all the more appealing because it takes place over a long weekend to allow out-of-Durban fans to attend. Youth Day, a public holiday, falls on Friday June 16 and Sunday June 18 is Father’s Day.”
Sriram - dubbed the Chennai Crooner - is popular among the young and old for his soulful and melodious music that has won him millions of fans.
“The event promises to showcase passion for South Indian music with a blend of contemporary modern Tamil and Telugu pop and rock influences with a music style covering blues, jazz, R&B and rock. We expect to put up the ‘House Full’ sign for this concert,” said Naidoo.
“I am putting together a playlist that will blow the roof of the auditorium. The stage will be on fire – the show will be absolute magic,” said Sriram.
"Some of the songs I will be performing include my all-time favourite hits and new songs recently released. It’s going to be a lot of dancing, a lot of quiet moments and just connecting with my fans.”
