The Durban leg of the Spar Women’s race will take place on Sunday June 25, and entries for the 10km/5km challenge are currently open.
This year, four strong KZN female role models will be flying the flag as race ambassadors. They are former SA Springbok, current KZN rugby player and firefighter Zinhle Ndawonde; former Spar Protea netball player, Baby Proteas assistance coach and teacher at Danville Park Girls’ High School Precious Mthembu; actress and comedian, Lisa Bobbert; and an obstetrics and gynaecology specialist Dr Marise Subrayan.
The 10km race (incorporating the national Spar Grand Prix Series) will start at 8am, followed by the popular 5km fun run at 9am.
The route for both races is fast and flat on the Durban beachfront and finishing at the Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium outer fields.
Entries will close on Sunday June 18 or when the maximum number of entries (10 000) has been reached.
