A 25-year-old woman has sought assistance from a private security company to prevent the circulation of explicit videos and photographs of her and a man.
It is believed that the woman was involved in an extra-marital relationship with the man, and that his wife circulated the items after discovering them on his phone.
Reaction Unit South Africa’s (RUSA) Prem Balram said the girlfriend had contacted them explaining that they both worked together at a national company in Umhlanga.
“She said she had engaged in a sexual relationship with her work colleague and he had taken several pictures of her in the nude. He also consensually recorded videos of her performing sexual acts on him at work, in his car and hotel rooms.
“According to the complainant, she was not aware that he was married until she was contacted by his wife. The wife had found 14 videos and about 60 nude pictures of her on her husband’s phone and sought revenge by sharing them with Facebook friends, family and work colleagues,” said Mr Balram.
He said several posts on Facebook still remain active, with the wife offering pictures as proof of the extra marital affair, and asking people to contact her to view the pictures and videos.
“The husband has not returned to work since and has stopped all communication with the female. According to the husband, the mistress was aware that he was married and had previously bought birthday gifts for his children,” said Mr Balram.
He said no criminal cases were opened as yet.
“We are still attempting to resolve the issue and stop the circulation of the pictures and videos. The 25-year-old woman will review her choices if she does not get any success in preventing the further circulation of the items,” said Mr Balram.
