In an effort to create job opportunities, the eThekwini Municipality will be providing trading spaces for vendors in various areas.
The municipality said the deadline for interested traders to apply for these vacant trading sites, units and kiosks was noon on Friday July 28.
The informal trading sites are available across regions including coastal areas, the upper north, south, north, the central business district, as well as the inner and outer west lying areas.
The trading sites’ costs vary from R50 a month upwards and are dependent on the services provided to traders at the site. These services include cleaning, security, ablution facilities, a cool room for perishable goods, and storage.
Various multi-million-rand informal trade infrastructural development is taking shape across eThekwini with the aim being to address unemployment, the municipality said.
