Two men were killed in a tragic car accident on Higginson Highway, Chatsworth on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred just after 8pm, near the Havenside Road intersection.
ALS Paramedics arrived at the scene in response to a single-vehicle accident involving five occupants. ALS paramedics spokesman Garieth Jameson said it appeared that the vehicle had lost control, collided with the barriers, and rolled over onto the opposite lane. During the roll over, some occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
“Upon arrival, our paramedics found a grim scene. Tragically, two men, believed to be in their 30s, sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on the scene. Three other occupants, one woman and two men, suffered critical injuries. Advanced Life Support Paramedics provided initial stabilization before swiftly transporting them to a nearby hospital for necessary urgent care.
The exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain unknown at this stage. The South African Police Service (SAPS) was present at the scene and will conduct further investigations into the incident.
