The South African Police Service (SAPS) has issued a Pointing Out Notice calling on law enforcement officers to apprehend Anita Narudu, 44.
The directive follows a report by her estranged or ex-husband Rishi Dooki, the father of their two young sons, Aayur, 6,and Hridhay, 2, whom he has not seen in more three weeks.
Reaction Unit South Africa’s Prem Balram said Mr Dooki, reached out to them on Sunday for assistance, fearing for the safety of his sons.
“He described the woman as his ex-wife and that she had allegedly fled with the two children despite a court order mandating custody arrangements. The case has raised alarms for the father who has expressed deep concern for the well-being of his children. He is fearful for his children’s safety and there is further sensitive information available to us but is being withheld at the father’s request,” said Mr Balram.
SAPS spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the Pointing Out Notice, signed by a detective in Phoenix on November 4, formally requests law enforcement to detain Ms Narudu immediately, citing contravention of the court order as grounds for her arrest.
Both Mr Dooki and Ms Narudu are residents of Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal.
SAPS and RUSA urge members of the public who may have information about Aayur and Hridhay’s whereabouts to contact Rishi Dooki at 081 394 0007, RUSA or the SAPS.
