Gateway’s Festive Play Park, inspired by Disney, has opened its gates to children of all ages, offering a range of activities until Sunday December 31.
Nestled in the Expo Explore court, the park promises a blend of play zones, the towering Disney Chari-tree, and photo booths for capturing holiday memories, according to Michelle Shelley, Gateway’s marketing manager.
The Soft Play Zone features soft moulds of various shapes and sizes suitable for toddlers; children of all ages can revel in the Festive Disco Bus, where Disney songs set the stage for dancing, playing, and singing along; the Festive LEGO Build Zone encourages creative play; and the Christmas Creative Hub offers crafting activities.
The Disney Chari-tree is decorated with plush toys and the public can pledge a plush for R50. All donations and plush toys will be handed over to the Reach for a Dream Foundation.
The play park is open daily from 10am to 6pm. It will be closed on Christmas Day, December 25. Tickets are available from Webtickets at R50 for participants and R10 for accompanying adults, with free entry for children aged 3 and under when accompanying a parent with a valid ticket.
Other attractions at the mall this festive season include Disney-themed photo booths; Santa’s red couch, the festive swing, the enormous teddy bear and a 12m-high Christmas tree adorned with 2100 shiny baubles.
The Gifting Concierge at Gateway has been taken over by Reach for a Dream, allowing visitors to make children’s dreams come true by donating to this cause in exchange for wrapped gifts.
