Radio, theatre and television personality, Jailoshini Naidoo, has bid adieu to Lotus FM after nine years as a Saturday morning host.
Naidoo, celebrated for her multifaceted talents as an actor, writer, director, and comedian, announced her departure last weekend as the co-host of The Weekend Recharge, alongside Koobeshen Naidoo – who has also been her co-star on the hit Keeping Up with the Kandasamys movie franchise.
Explaining her decision, Naidoo said the demands of her burgeoning career in film, television, and stage productions, coupled with her comedic endeavours, were the driving force behind her departure.
“After nine incredible years as the host of the Saturday morning show, I had no choice but to make the bitter-sweet decision to bid farewell to this chapter of my life and continue to focus on my other work,” she said.
Naidoo expressed gratitude for the support of the listeners who welcomed her into their homes and hearts.
“Their unwavering support and loyalty have meant the world to me,” she said.
“It was a brilliant learning experience and opportunity for me to traverse yet another platform as an artist.”
As she bids farewell to Lotus FM, Naidoo looks ahead to new horizons, with plans under way for a forthcoming film project in Johannesburg, alongside her involvement in scriptwriting and a nationwide comedy tour featuring her beloved alter-ego, Aunty Rumba.
