In a collaborative effort to enhance healthcare infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted water supply, the Gift of the Givers and the Bonitas Medical Fund have partnered to donate boreholes to two vital medical facilities in KwaZulu-Natal.
The beneficiaries of this philanthropic initiative are the Umzinto Clinic and Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital.
Lee Callakoppen, representing Bonitas Medical Fund, expressed the enduring commitment of the partnership, which began in 2018 and has now been extended into 2024 with an additional investment of R3.3 million. This contribution encompasses various healthcare interventions, including boreholes for health facilities and bursaries for final year medical students at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, founder of Gift of the Givers, highlighted the success of previous joint initiatives with Bonitas, expressing enthusiasm for the continued partnership.
“We are in the fortunate position of having the relationships in place to actively execute the necessary healthcare interventions, together with Bonitas. We are thrilled at the success of this continued partnership,” he said.
