Durban Girls’ College recently opened its new Primary School Library, a “magical, thoughtfully curated space designed to spark young imaginations and foster a lifelong love of reading”.
The library, that officially opened its doors on October 25, is not merely a room filled with books but a welcoming haven where young girls can escape, explore, and immerse themselves in the boundless world of stories.
“The new library isn’t just about books,” said head of marketing Kelley Litkie.
“It’s about creating a place where young minds can be inspired, where creativity can flow, and where each child feels encouraged to dream and explore the world through literature. We wanted to design a space that would genuinely capture the hearts and minds of our primary school pupils, and I believe we’ve done just that,” she said.
“It’s a collective effort, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who supported this project. Their contributions have brought this vision to life, reinforcing the incredible impact of our school community.”
“This library if proof of our belief in the power of stories to inspire and shape young lives,” Ms Litkie added.
