Durban residents can look forward to sky-high thrills at the Virginia Airshow that takes place on Saturday August 31.
Making a comeback after a 10-year hiatus, the airshow promises to be a spectacular day for aviation enthusiasts.
Having claimed the prestigious Airshow of the Year award previously, the show is set to be even more action packed, with a line-up featuring some of South Africa’s best aviation performers, along with ground exhibits, food and refreshment stalls, and entertainment.
Highlights on the day will include performances by Scully Levin, the South African Air Force (SAAF), five-time South African aerobatics champion, Patrick Davidson, the Marksmen Aerobatic Team, On the Move’s Tristan Eeles, Juba Joubert’s aerobatic helicopter display and an Execujet flypast.
Chairperson Jeannie Sarno said the Umhlanga Tourism Organisation was excited and proud to be a partner in the 2024 Durban Virginia Airshow.
“We know for sure that it will be well supported by the local community.
“As a tourism organisation, we also urge visitors from out of town to come down for the weekend and fill the hotels, book at the restaurants, enjoy the show on Saturday and take the family to local attractions on Sunday. This needs to be marketed as an unmissable annual event on the KwaZulu Natal calendar,” she said.
The Umhlanga Tourism Office will be at the airshow on Saturday promoting and marketing all that Umhlanga and surrounding areas have to offer.
