Cricketers Prenelan Subrayen and Alexander Candler were the highlight of the evening at the glitzy Hollywoodbets Dolphins season-ending awards at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club in Durban recently.
Subrayen and Candler were the standout winners across the men’s and women’s categories.
From a Dolphins men’s perspective, Subrayen took home both the Men’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards as well as the 4-Day Domestic Series Player of the Year. Subrayen finished the 4-Day Series as the second-highest wicket-taker in both the 4-Day Series and the One Day Cup which showed his consistency throughout the season.
Candler, who dominated the previous seasons awards as well, took home three awards which included the Player of the Year, Hollywoodbets Pro50 Batter of the Year and the Pro50 Player of the Year awards.
These awards back-up her Players’ Player of the Year, Player of the Year and both T20 and 50 Over batter of the year awards last season.
Candler was again a stand-out with the bat, she finished as the leading run scorer in the Pro50 competition with 387 runs in ten innings. She was the fifth highest run scorer in the Pro20 competition with 205 runs.
