The father of 20-year-old Maldon Suknandan is seeking witnesses to a fatal collision and possible shooting that claimed his son's life.

The incident occurred on Monday, November 18, at about 9.39am on the Inanda Highway.

Reaction Unit South Africa’s Prem Balram said Suknandan's white Opel Corsa bakkie crashed through a fence and landed on Barvale Drive.

“Paramedics rushed Suknandan to the hospital, where he was declared deceased. However, medical reports revealed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head,” said Mr Balram.

Mr Balram said Raj Suknandan, the deceased's father, has been searching for answers and has acquired a witness who reported hearing gunshots near the wreckage after the crash.

"He is now looking for more information regarding his son's death and has appealed to anyone who knows anything to contact us at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at 086 1234 333," said Mr Balram.
