Rajev Baboolal has been missing since last Sunday
In a heartfelt plea for assistance, a Norfolk, United Kingdom resident has reached out to the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) in hopes of finding her brother, who has been missing since the weekend.
The concerned sister (whose name is being withheld) contacted the South African emergency response team on Wednesday afternoon, worried about the whereabouts of her 43-year-old sibling, Rajev Baboolal.
Baboolal, who lives alone in Clare Road in Clare Estate, and who is mentally challenged, has not been seen or heard from since Saturday March 9.
It is believed that he was last seen walking to a local petrol station shop to buy bread before visiting a friend and then leaving to return home. He, however, did not return home and friends became concerned so they raised the alarm.
“Adding to the urgency is the fact that Baboolal was scheduled to travel by taxi on Monday to the King Dinuzulu Hospital in Sydenham, KZN, for his medical needs. His sudden disappearance and the subsequent discovery that his cellphone is switched off have led to unsuccessful attempts to establish contact, leaving his family and friends in a state of anxious uncertainty,” said Prem Balram from RUSA.
