We kept up with them, we had a wedding, we took a trip, and now there is a baby.
South Africa’s favourite family welcomes a new member and in this fourth instalment of The Kandasamys, we get to watch all the drama.
The latest offering, The Kandasamys: The Baby, premiered at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping on Thursday evening while the movie dropped on Netflix early on Friday morning.
Netflix, in a press release, said viewers can buckle up for another side-splitting adventure as the cast journeys to Mauritius, where Jodi (Mishqah Parthiephal) and Prishen (Madhushan Singh) are gearing up to welcome their precious new addition, all while grappling with the delightful meddling of none other than the iconic mom duo turned soon-to-be grandmothers, Jennifer (Jailoshini Naidoo) and Shanti (Maeshni Naicker).
What starts as a picturesque nursery rhyme, quickly spirals into a whirlwind of drama as the mom squad unites, unveiling eyebrow-raising ideas on how to give the little one a grand welcome and a proper upbringing.
Feathers will be ruffled, and traditions will be re-written as the family dynamic shifts, but the beloved matriarch Aya (Mariam Bassa) has her own ideas and plans for a lavish Mauritian getaway, seeking some well-deserved solitude amid the chaos.
Meanwhile, the lovable grandfathers, Elvis (Koobeshen Naidoo) and Preggie (Yugan Naidoo), take matters into their own hands once again, as their idyllic escape from Durban becomes a battleground.
Yet, in the end, as all families do, the Kandasamys rally together, each having their own epiphanies about the trials and tribulations of parenting and the importance of unwavering community support.
All the while, Jodi and Prishen must navigate these uncharted waters as first-time parents.
